White Party Artemis

[NADIA DIANE CROWE]

Life had been strange for the past few weeks. Nadia was in the process of getting her memories back from Michael's spells. She remembered almost everything. Except one. SHe didn't remember the day she met Conner. NAthan had tried to help her but it wasn't like he could make her remember.

There was a party today. It was Nadia's Birthday and her forgotten family was throwing it. Nadia dress in a simple white dress that looked like something a greek Goddess would wear. Her hair was twist up around her head and she wore a gold halo band to hold it up.

She walked to the living room to find Malcolm in there in an elaborate white suit. "You lost nice, Dear. Where is Gwen? We are running late." She looked about the room and found Nathan snoozing in the corner. "NAthan! You are ruining your suit! Get up!" Nadia was nervous.

VIktor walked into the room and sighed. "Leave the boy be! He is exhausted." Viktor went to Malcolm and smiled, "You looked great my boy. I am quite proud of you.... I know your grandmother is as well..."

Malcolm SMIled at his grandfather and then answered his aunts question. "She is getting ready, she will be out in a moment and we can go." He sighed. It was going to be one hell of a night.

Gwen was double checking herself in the mirror, wanting to look perfect. It was her best friends party after all. Her and Nadia had become quite close in the past few weeks. It had been odd having all of them around all of the time but she was slowly getting used to it, “I’m ready! I apologize for taking so long.” She smiled as she stood by Malcolm, “how do I look? Not my favorite color but I think I pull it off quite nicely don’t you?”

-meanwhile at the coven house-

Artemis was busy running around the house, making sure that everything was where it was supposed to be and everyone was there. So far there were only a few people absent from the party but she knew that they would show up sooner or later. This party had been the only thing keeping her mind off of the things that had happened a few weeks ago, “Destiny! Where is Conner? He was supposed to be here an hour ago!”

Destiny hurried down the stairs and tried to ignore her mother’s frantic tone. “He isn’t here yet, but he will be here soon, Calm down. Everything is going to be great. The house looks Amazing!” She smiled, trying to ease her mother’s worry, “I’m going to go out back and see if everyone else is ready.”

Malcolm smiled at GWen the moment she walked inthe room. "You look absolutely stunning, my love." He chuckled at her color COmment and shook his head in disbelief. "You look good in every color, you just have your favorites."

NAdia rushed them all out the door and into the limo. SHe wanted to be there already. SHe wanted the party over. SHe was Aggravated that VIktor made her come but she would do whatever possible to make sure that NAthan was happy.

COVEN HOUSE

Zane paced the backyard. Nadia was on her way. he could hear her. He was Nervous about the Many events that would happen tonight. Viktor and Artemis. Conner and Odette. Odette and Griffon. Nadia and Conner. Himself and Chasity. He looked around at all the decor. Artemis had really outdone herself. it was beautiful and every bit of the vision Nadia had had herself. HE heard Artemis ask about Conner, he wondered the same thing. Where was his Brother?

Natalie sighed as she leaned against a tree in the yard, watching Zane pace around. The past few weeks she had hit quite a growth spurt, and not the little she used to be. “Uncle Zane, if you keep pacing back and forth like that you are going to wear a hole into the ground...It’s your birthday, smile a little bit, and spike everyone’s drinks! You are not supposed to be nervous.” She hated feeling everyone so tense and nervous. This was supposed to be a party; the whole family was going to be together again. Not that it was a good thing. She still owed Nathan for what he had done to her mother. When she had found out about it she had been furious, but she wouldn’t ruin the party. Not with her mother watching her like a hawk.

Artemis looked at her brother who was sitting on the couch on the other side of the room. He had been spending a lot of time at the house with her since Viktor had left. She had been grateful for his company, even if he did spend all of his time complaining about her choice in men…in Viktor. She was trying her best to convince her brother the Viktor was a good man but the longer he was gone the more depressed she got, and she knew that her brother could tell she was hurting. “Are you going to sit there with that frown on your face the whole time you are here? Do I have to get Casey scold you?” she asked with a smile.

Wes laughed a bit and shook his head, “No, I don’t need her on my case again, though I think you are out of luck, She went to that Chasity girls place to get ready.” We still didn’t know if he liked those two spending so much time together. “I will do my best to keep smiling so your little get together doesn’t get ruined. Though, I do think this party is a waste of your time.” He got up off the couch and pulled his sister away from the decorations, “Stop fidgeting, you are a vampire. You are not supposed to fidget.”

Ever since Conner had watched Nathan and Nadia leave he had been home less and less. Trying to figure out his thoughts and what he wanted. What made it worse was that he and Odette seemed to slowly be drifting apart and she had been spending more time with Casey’s brother Griffon. Maybe it was for the best, he wasn’t sure. He knew he was late for the party and that his mother was going to kill him for it so he tried to sneak in without her noticing. He managed to get into the back yard and was soon standing next to Zane, “If she asks, I have been here the whole time.”

Zane frowned at the ground upon the thought that he may actually wear a hole in it. Artemis worked hard to make the yard look beautiful. She would kill him. He jumped when he heard Conner's voice. "What the hell, dude? Don't just sneak up on people like that." He sighed and leaned against a large boulder that sat in the yard. He slowly started to hear the thoughts of his twin father and nephew. Turning towards the driveway, he sighed. "They are almost here."

Nadia looked out the window as they turned onto the driveway. Just breathe, Nadia. Everything will be fine, you are with family. This is going to be fun. she really tried to convince her sepf of this but for some reason she couldn't believe it. There was going to be drama. She knew it. There was no way that there wouldn't be.

Malcolm couldn't wait to see the dress he sent for his sister to wear. He wanted to see his whole family, well everyone except Conner. The one person everyone else couldn't wait to see. Viktor wanted an update on the coven, Nathan wanted to see his dad and Nadia just wanted to see him. Malcolm was sure that everything would run smoothly. There wasn't any word from his father about seeing the future and things going badly so he was confident

Viktor patted Nadia's knee. And spoke to everyone in the limo. "We are all just wanting to have a good time. Don't worry about the dramas. Just have fun." He looked up and saw the large house, that had once been a school for boys. A school that his human ancestors had built. "We are here. Lets make sure to have a good time. This is home, no matter where we go."

Zachary and sebastian heard the limo stop outside and they joined Conner and Zane immediately. "They are here." The twins said in unison. Sebastian smiled but Zachary was concerned. "We should go greet our guests..."

Any other time Conner probably would have laughed at the fact he had caught Zane by surprise “Since when are you the jumpy one?” He understood who Zane felt, they were all feeling apparently. He wasn’t sure he was quite ready to face them yet and he hesitated when the twins said they had arrived. It was funny to hear them being called guests when this was their home as well, but with all that had gone in the past few weeks he supposed guest was the best word to use.

“Let’s go, if we are late to greet them…I think my mother may kill us all.” He tried to joke around and smile the best that he could to take away the awkward feeling in his stomach. At least he would get to see Nathan, which was one of the things that helped him stay calm.

Mackenzie spent a while getting ready for the party with her mother. Despite the fact that they had parted on bad terms she was excited to see her brother and hoped that he wasn’t mad at her for what happened. She heard the car pull up and hurried to the window, “Mom! They are here! Let’s go!” She picked up her dress so she wouldn’t end up tripping over herself and hurried down the stairs to greet everyone. Passing Harmony and her father on the way, the both of them were keeping a close eye on everyone to make sure it would be a good party.

Chasity had arrived with Casey just before the limo had pulled up. The two of them were standing in the front yard watching Derrick and Zephyr argue about the differences between half vampires and regular vampires. They hadn’t even noticed that everyone else had started to arrive, “I can’t decide who is the bigger idiot, your brother or mine.” Chasity said to Casey as they continued watching the little argument.”

Westley could see his sister was nervous about going outside and meeting them so he pushed her towards the door and sighed, “Go on, I am going to make sure Zephyr isn’t somewhere around here picking fights and see if I can find Griffon.”

Artemis was grateful that her brother had decided to give her a little push. Viktor was just outside, she had thought she would be fine but now she wasn’t sure. There was only one way to find out. She waited for Conner and the others before stepping outside greet everyone. Her first instinct was to go to Viktor but stopped herself and went to Nadia instead, “Happy birthday Nadia, I am so happy that you are finally here.”

Viktor was the last of party to exit the Limo but it only took them a second to exit it. He Stood and watched everything happen in quick succession.

Malcolm was the first to rise out of the limo. He helped Gwen from their escort and began to walk up the steps when they were joined by his four uncles. "Zachary, Sebastian, Zane," He nodded to each of them. "It is wonderful to see you." He looked into the last Uncle's eyes. The leader of the coven. His now enemy. He nodded to him. "Conner." Then walked past them to await his sister and Parents.

Zach and BAst were on edge. They didn't like the tension in Malcolm's eyes. Zane Hadn't either. They wondered what his intentions were.

Nadia Stepped from the limo and saw Conner first. He was there. Flanked by Her own brothers. They all stood protectively around him, but casually did so. An untrained eye wouldn't have known that any of the three were ready to strike at a moment's notice. Before she could think another thought about the four boys standing in front of her she was enveloped by Artemis. "Thank you. Da was the one who told me to come." She glanced up at Conner who had a blonde thing at his side now. "I had my reasons for not wanting to be here."

Odette stepped out the door and went to Conner's side as she should. She was his girl, though for some reason she didn't know if that was where she belonged anymore.

Conner nodded at Malcolm, He could tell he was still angry with him which didn’t really matter since Conner wasn’t too happy with Malcolm either. It was obvious that the two of them would never have the relationship that they used to have and that was just fine with him.

When Odette joined them he smiled a bit and took her hand, his eyes wandered around and sure enough Griffon wasn’t too far away…watching her. Why did this situation have to be so screwed up? He tried not to look Nadia in the eyes, she had to be upset with him still “It’s very nice to have you all here, we have all been very excited for this day, Why don’t we all go to the back yard, Mother has worked very hard and I’m sure she is very excited to show it off.”

Artemis turned and looked at Conner, Disappointed that he wasn’t looking at Nadia but she knew he was going to come to his senses and just talk to her sooner or later, “Yes let’s not all stand here at the door the party is in the back yard, Everyone stop looking like there is going to be a fight and get your butts back there.” She was saying that mostly to the boys surrounding Conner. Then she looked back and Victor, “I think you and I need to have a talk.”

Mack hurried down the stairs and grinned when she finally saw her brother. “Malcolm!” She ran towards him but stopped just before she got to him, remembering that he was probably still angry with her for hitting him, “I…I am so happy to see you…Are you still angry with me?” She asked as she looked at Gwen and smiled a bit, she still wasn’t sure about her.

Zane, and the twins, Sebastian and Zachary, followed Connor to the backyard as they were instructed. They made space between themselves and their leader. But they kept an eye on their brother. They were all family there, but they weren't sure who they could trust.

Nathan ran to his father's side and walked with him to the back of the house. "Dad! New York was so cool. Much more awesome than Seattle any day! Mom took me to see. The Empire State building, the metropolitan museum of art, and Time Square. We walked every path of Central Park, and we did a lot of walking everywhere." He was very excited and could tell that it was just about time the his mother to join them.

Odette smiled and giggled at Nathan's excitement. She would have to visit New York City one day. She hasn't noticed the Nadia was there until she was right in front of her. Looking at Conner, with the same look she always gave him.
Nadia stared into Conner's eyes, not giving him any you've but to look into her own. "Conner, if you wouldn't mind, I would like to speak with you..." She glanced at Odette. "...alone..." Nadia walked away going to the one place they knew was theirs. The now dust covered room they had once shared. She stood looking around the room. It still showed traces of Nadia getting ready to go to the club five years ago. It saddened her that she had been away and not in her home with her imprint.

Jimmy arrived a little late. But it was better late than never. He looked at the group and sighed. He watched the party commence. More than just the coven was there. There was a pack too.

Viktor nodded to his wife and stepped away to speak with her. He knew she was hurt. He knew he deserved whatever he had coming but he had to try to explain it to her. "Your right you know?" He paused, "I try to run the family like a business rather than letting it just be what it is. The past five years I have became my old self. The me that I don't want to be.... I had to change that. I went to New York to bring her home. To fix things."

Malcolm cracked up when Mack didn't hug him. He pulled her in a crushing hug. "Look Sis, we all change, things happen to us that make us different. But it is still me and it is still you. You have read too deeply into the prophecy." He let his sister. Go and pulled Gwen to him, "Mack? Have you officially met my Gwendolyn?

Conner laughed quietly as he listened to Nathan talk about how much fun he had, “I’m glad you had fun, we really missed you here at home though.” He was happy to see his son again. just as he was about to say something else Nadia came and asked to speak with him. He hated the way she acted toward Odette, this really wasn’t her fault, “I will be right back.”

He smiled gently before following Nadia to their room. He stopped just outside the door, “I haven’t….I haven’t come in here since it happened.” He said as he forced himself to walk inside, It was still hard for him to believe she was really there, “What do you want to talk about?” He asked quietly as he sat down on the bed, “I really hate this you know…this tension between us, it’s driving me crazy…how do you feel about it?”

Natalie had seen her uncle arrive late and was going to go over to him and tease him about it when she spotted Nathan walk into the backyard. She knew she wasn’t supposed to start trouble but she was incredibly angry with him still for what he did to her mother and she was going to let him know about it whether the others liked it or not. She took a quick look around, grinning when she saw that everyone who would stop her was too busy and distracted to notice. She walked over to him and grabbed his arm, letting him feel just how upset she was with him, “Hello Nathan, Long time no see.”

Artemis sighed as he tried to explain himself for leaving the way he did, “I know why you left…and I understand that…what I don’t understand is how you could just walk away and leave me like that. Do you know how it made me feel? It hurt Viktor, even if you did have good intentions in leaving….and not having you here with me has been heart breaking…and I missed you.” She was his wife and it felt like that meant nothing.

Mack relaxed when he hugged her and smiled as she hugged him back. It made her happy to know that her brother still loved her after she had slapped him last time, “I just had to make sure Malcolm, I have missed you so much and I have so much that I want to talk to you about. I am happy that you are here.” She turned to Gwen and smiled, wanting to be friendly to her brother’s girl. She wished that Rupert could have been here, “No, not officially. It is very nice to meet you Gwen. I’m sorry it has taken so long for me to speak with you.”

Gwen smiled as she wrapped her arm around Malcolm, “It is nice to meet you to Mackenzie, your brother has told me so much about you…I am really looking forward to getting to know you better.” This party was going a lot better than she had thought it was going to. She figured that there would be throat ripping, yelling and maybe a little bit of crying but everyone seemed to be controlling their emotions well. As they walked outside to join everyone else her eyes shot over to Jimmy. She knew it was him because even though he looked like a Crowe she still saw traces of those three in them. Just being close to him made her nervous, but she calmed herself when she realized that the chances of those idiots showing up were slim. “You guys really outdid yourselves with this party. Everything looks amazing.”

"If I am honest with you, it is killing me. I fell like I am suffocating in it." Nadia wasn't sure how they were going to make this work. She knew they were meant to be together and they had to find a way. "We both know that with everything that has happened we can't start where we left off. But all the feelings are still there." Nadia looked around the room and sighed. "I want to know what you want to do. I am home, Nathan and I will be staying here at Crowe manor, he needs to be here and I do too." Nadia had been told by her father that things were all wrong without her. Nadia felt it too.

Nathan frowned at Natalie when she grabbed his arm. He felt her anger and moved to make it so she was no longer touching him but it was too late, the feelings were there. His stomach turned and he felt light headed. He was going down and before he knew it he was out.

Odette stared as the small scene played out. Nathan face planted into the grass. "NATALIE! What did you do to him?" she was shocked and her voice was filled with her surprise. She looked around and saw Griffin across the lawn. "Griffin! Help me with him."

Viktor knew that he would not be able to talk his way out of this. Nothing in his long list of lines would fix the hurt and pain he had caused his wife. He hung his head and pinched the bridge of his nose. It was his nervous trigger. He heard her thoughts and shook his head. "No, babe, I swear, you and our family mean more to me than my entire existence. I had broken things and had to fix them. I thought you and I would be okay, that you knew I would come back."

Malcolm saw Jimmy had arrived and nodded to him. He looked around the yard and saw several more guest showing up. The Cullens, and a few other nomads showed. Humans were everywhere too. Some of his old schoolmates were there as filler. He saw everyone but he still spoke to Mack. "So what has happened, Conner basically exiled me, I have heard nothing on how the coven has been." That was a lie, Gwen, Jimmy, and a few other demons kept tabs on all of them for him, but he wanted to see what she would tell him. If she would trust him.

This situation was messed up and it kept getting worse. In the end he knew what his choice would be, but he didn’t want to hurt Odette. She was only human and he knew the whole imprinting thing was going to be hard for her to understand. But maybe it wouldn’t be as hard if she had Griffon there for her. “I don’t know what I want to do Nadia, I want you and Nathan home and I want you by my side...I just wish things were not so complicated.” He sighed as he ran his fingers through his hair and step towards her, “We don’t have to rush things. With you home we can try to start over. There is so much we have to learn about each other again...but I need a little time. I have to talk with Odette...I love you but I don’t want to hurt her.”

Griffon was trying his best to stay away from Odette while at the party. He didn’t want to make anything hard on her or make things awkward. But as soon as the boy feel over and She yelled for him to help he couldn’t stop his feet from moving toward them, “Is he alright?” He knelt down and looked him over to see if he was hurt but it just seemed that the Crowe girl had just messed with him, “Here lets get him off the ground and take him inside.” He said as he picked Nathan up off the ground.”

“Welcome home Nathan.” Natalie bit back a laugh and innocently shrugged when Odette yelled at her, “Opps? What do you want me to say? Sorry? He can’t hear me he is out cold.” Of course she knew she was probably going to pay for that later but it was worth it. It wasn’t fair that he had gone so long without some kind of punishment. Even though she had done what she wanted to, the anger she felt towards him hadn’t left her the way she wanted it to.

She quickly glanced around to see if Conner or Nadia had seen it, luckily the two of them didn’t seem to be outside. Though honestly she was more afraid of what her grandparents were going to say about it but oh well, the damage was done. “Stop fussing over him, It’s not like I killed him. He will wake up in a little bit.” She was about to try and talk Griffon into leaving Nathan lay there but someone grabbed her arm and started pulling her away. “Mom, knock it off! He deserved it and you know it.”

Destiny hadn’t gotten to Natalie in time to stop her from grabbing Nathan. “What were you thinking? You know how important this party is to everyone. It’s hard enough without you going around and causing trouble.” It was something that she should have seen coming but she thought that Nat would have at least waited until after the party before “Zachary, did you see what she did?” She wanted Zach to ignore his duties for just a few minutes and be a father. “Will you please talk some sense into your daughter? She won’t listen to me.” Destiny had tried talking to Natalie but the girl never wanted to listen to her about anything.

“You’re not exiled Malcolm, Conner is just....avoiding you. He is angry. He will get over it someday.” She didn’t really know what to tell her brother about the things going on with the coven. It wasn’t really like a coven anymore. It was just like a group of broken strangers who just happened to be related. “Well I am surprised to hear you haven’t been keeping tabs on everyone. But things haven’t really been the best around here....To tell you the truth I have kind of been avoiding this place as much as I can. It seems like the only relationship here that isn’t messed up is our parents. I have been spending all of my time with my...my friend. So I am really not the one you should talk to if you want information....sometimes I just wish things would go back to the way they used to be.”

She called Rupert her friend because they still hadn’t really made anything official. She knew that he wasn’t one for commitment so she was being patient with him. “What about you Malcolm, what have you been doing in new york?”

Artemis frowned when he said that he thought that they would be okay, “How could it have possible been okay? You left without a word to me about it and then you didn’t even call or write. Leaving was not the way to fix this family Viktor...I am tired of being abandoned by the men I love.” She sighed and rubbed her forehead, “Now isn’t the time to talk about this...We need to go out to the party. I’m afraid what will happen if I am not keeping a close eye on things. Lets put smiles on our faces and for now pretend that everything is okay.” She said quietly as she turned away from him. “We will talk more tonight.”

Nadia listened and nodded to Conner as he spoke. She agreed that they must take their time with each other but she wondered if he knew Odette was imprinted on. Just as he was. He thought went to Odette not understanding the concept of imprinting. "You don't know, do you?" Nadia was surprised Zane hadn't said anything. She knew only because Zane knew. She could understand why he hadn't told him but what was the point in not telling him. Conner was Nadia's imprint, he belonged to her. Just as Odette was Griffon's, it would be wrong to keep them apart. Nadia stared at Conner waiting for his reply, she knew that he didn't but she needed to go slowly on telling him.

Odette shook her head. "I don't know. Natalie did something to him." She watched Nathan's lifeless body as they walked into the house. Conner wasn't going to be happy, but Odette was more concerned about Nadia's temper. They got inside and she went to the living room. "Lay him on the couch, we will wait for his parents to get back."

Zachary sighed and wiped at his face with one of his hands. "Natalie, I know you are still angry with him, and he should have never done what he did to your mother, but you are not the one who needs to administer his punishment. Conner and I have already talked about it. He will be binded from using his powers for a short time by Melissa. You be on your best behavior or you will come to the same fate. I don't want to do that to you, so start acting like the adult you want to be treated as." Zachary was angry with his daughter that she would resort to that type of behavior.

Malcolm was disappointed that she didn't have much more information than he already knew. He had been keeping tabs on everyone but that wasn't up for discussion. "Everything changes Mack. Only thing that will never change is blood lines." he shared a small look with her and looked away. He didn't have much information on New York, but he would tell her a small bit of what he was doing. "There is a group of people, they call themselves The Creed. I have been gathering information on them. They aren't a group to be trifled with. They are a threat to all supernaturals."

Viktor frowned. He dug a grave and it was too deep to get out of. He nodded in agreement and gave his most convincing smile. He followed her outside and took her hand as they rejoined the party. As they greeted their guests no one was aware that they were walking on egg shells.

Conner knew something was going on but right now he didn’t think it was the time to discuss it. He was about to try and figure out what she meant when he saw Nathan being carried inside. “Nadia, can we continue this later. I think something happened to Nathan. Odette and Griffon are carrying him inside.” It made him really angry that someone would start something today when everything was supposed to be going smoothly. He took Nadia’s hand and started pulling her out of the room to see what was wrong.

Having her powers threatened didn’t sit well with Natalie, even if it was her father doing it. “Yeah sure, bind my powers for doing what you should have done weeks ago! He should not have been allowed to leave after what he did and you know it! But no! Since he is Nadia’s and Conner’s he gets to do whatever the hell he wants.” She growled and started to turn away but changed her mind and looked back at him, “And you can call me a child all you want, but unlike you I know exactly how everyone in this yard is feeling. It’s you people who are acting like the scared little children...so go ahead and bind my powers, you would be doing me a favor Da!” With that she frowned and stomped away.

Derrick had gotten tired arguing with Zephyr and had started to wander around when he heard the fight between Zach and Natalie. He thought it was incredibly funny and it reminded him why he never wanted to be a parent .He walked up next to Zack and shoved his hands in his pockets. “You know what they say, act bad in your youth and your children will be twice as terrible. I wonder what that means for you Zachary...Can’t be good.”

Mack knew more about the creed then she really wanted to, “Yeah I have heard about them, I have actually been trying to find them. They took someone who is important to me.” She found it odd that both of them would find out about the group called the creed. They must have been worse than Mack originally thought. “Derrick has said that he thinks they are going to come after this coven soon. But I think he is just being paranoid.”

Artemis kept her smile on her face as everyone came up to talk to her. It was hard to do at first but as the minuets went by she found that she was really happy to have Viktor back by her side. Even though she was still really angry with him. She laid her head against his arm as she looked out at everyone, “Looks like even today we are not going to be able to escape a little family drama...I guess that is what a family is for though.”

Nadia was startled by Conner grabbing her hand. He pulled her from the room and it only took a few steps to catch up and match his pace. It was a wonderful feeling to be able to be near him. They raced down the stairs, to find Nathan on the couch and Odette hovering over him. "Thank you, we will take care of him." Nadia reluctantly let go of Conner's hand and brushed Nathan's brow. "Nathan? Can you hear me?" he groaned but didn't have a sound reply. She looked up at Griffon and Odette. "What happened?"
