Evangeline had taken some time out from reading to enjoy the scenery there was around her a quick fun and she was in the town known as forks. She could sense power coming from here and upon her arrival she could tell why. It was like a hivan for the mythical community here. How the humans did not know was beyond her. Evangeline was without an escorted today and she rather liked it. Ever since was in England and was one of the queens ladies she had her minions around her. Those old vampires were set in their ways and rarely left her side. She liked to be her own spirit sometimes. It always surprised her this new technological world. She was not one to understand it all. She much preferred the times where she could write a letter, plus it was more fun in her eyes. Her first thoughts of forks was that it was a nice little town but just like every other small place in america if you could get over all the other worldly presence. There was quite a lot of history still in this little place, Evangeline would go look at whiles she was in town. She liked looking at other cultures history. She was one straight from the history pages herself so finding out more was always fun to her. Her first thought of call would to look at the shops, what girl didn't likes shopping. So she followed the path and the signs for the high street. She figured going into the center of the town would be where all the shops where. She was not walking for very long when she arrived at a coffee shop on the edge of forks itself. She smiled and smelled the warming coffee. Even Though she was a vampire her age helped her take a liking to playing with human food she could eat it but it did nothing for her. All it did was make her look Human so she thought she would venture inside and see if their was anyone worth meeting. Evangeline enter the small cafe and looked around. It was quaint and she liked it. Finding a booth to her left she slipped inside and looked at the menu. She was good at making herself fit in now. When the waitress who looked really tired came over she ordered a coffee and a cake. She then let her eyes wander around the cafe. To all the potential new people she could meet. Wherever people gathered to eat, they also gathered to gossip: this was one of the first rules of hearing stories and gathering information. This fact had a few flaws, of course. For one thing, not all supernatural beings ate traditional food. See: vampires. Who really had to hunt to eat, no matter what. This did not mean the theory was completely wrong, of course. See, the more important part of the phrase was that people were gathering at all- it just so happened that with most groups, the best place to gather was over food. Min-Ji took this for why vampire gossip got so damn weird. They had no food to discuss it over! Of course it got weird!
At any rate, this meant Min-Ji simply had to figure out which places the people of Forks liked to hang out and eat. There, she would find the core of the stories she chased down, and a good lead as to where to start talking in order to gain more stories. True, she couldn't eat any of the food herself and still get much out of it... unfortunately... but she could still hang out and pretend she understood why humans talked about mac and cheese or burgers with such big, happy grins on their faces! Even if she always got a little jealous that they could eat things that weren't basically the same thing over and over again for thousands of years...
Well! She'd start at a nearby cafe. It was in the small shopping district of Forks. To buy anything truly spectacular, you had to drive an hour out to Seattle. However, the small restaurant/cafe/bar that was in the center of Forks was a pretty good place to go to eat. The town was beginning to expand a little, too, due to the supernatural population. Perhaps more interesting stores would come into town soon? Then again, the town would never grow too large. It was a supernatural hotspot, and most supernatural creatures were averse to big cities, big towns, big human populations. It lead to less acceptance, a higher likelihood of getting caught. Min-Ji would probably have to leave if Forks got too big, for example. She couldn't stay in big cities too long. It made her hands feel dirty and her head hurt and her body feel like shrinking and her head feel like a disaster. So yeah. No big towns.
She'd been to this dingy eatery once before, a night or two ago. She'd met one of the Fair Folk in it. Today, she cheerfully sat up at the bar and, after some thought, ordered a beer, on tap. The bartender raised an eyebrow, but filled a glass for her anyway. Behind her, there was noise. There were other people here, either also at the bar or in booths. She'd go bother them in a few minutes.
The bartender handed her the glass. "You sure you want it? You sure don't look like the kind of folk who can drink it."
Min-Ji waved him off. "Nah- beer's light stuff, you know?" Well, and she had vampire metabolism, and judging by the bartender's raised eyebrow, the bartender caught that Min-Ji's words were a little flat. Whoops. Whatever- she could down the drink (and oh, she wished she actually knew what it tasted like some days), and then she would bother some of the other people in the eatery for information. For example: there was a vampire a few booths down who had ordered a pastry from a somewhat tired barmaid. There were two black-suited men with laptops at a booth further from that, hurriedly whispering things in clothing that made them stand out like sore thumbs. A few seats down, there was a pretty human woman with the look in her eyes of someone who knew things.
Min-Ji kicked her feet. Yep. This was exactly the kind of place she could get behind, exactly the kind of place for storytelling! She concentrated really hard and started to eavesdrop on the suits men. Hm. They were talking about how apparently someone had gone missing in a stretch of nearby woods, the other night. "The sixth such case," one man said. "No wonder they went ahead and called us in. Missing people in a national park, and one of them's turned up, too."
"Really?" says the other suited man, while a nearby cop pretends not to also be listening. Unlike the suits man, he seems almost relaxed, despite the desperate situation.
"Yeah. Showed up with a missing arm and a wide smile on his face. Hasn't talked since. Whatever's going on, I want nothing to do with it, but the man's parents are apparently from out of state, so here we are."
The other suits man downed his (highly alcoholic) drink. Min-Ji took a sip of her (tasteless) beer. "I was wondering who wanted the FBI here. Locals sure don't seem to appreciate us."
Ah. They were onto complaining, now, but Min-Ji had an interesting new story to think about. This sounded less like werewolves or vampires and more like demons, maybe angels, possibly Fair Folk. She'd have to find a way to bring this up in future conversations- this kind of information made for a wonderful cautionary tale.
Hm. The other vampire was still here. She turned on her barstool and waved to her cheerily. Maybe she'd be up for a talk? Or maybe Min-Ji should just listen a little longer and then squeeze her way in front of the other. Either the other vampire would approach her now, or Min-Ji would go approach her herself once she finished her drink. Yeah. Sounded like a plan.

Evelyn was old so she could sense things. It came in handy especially with her collecting powers. As she had ordered her attention had got drawn to a new person, vampire should she say. She looked over to the vampire. The scent was old, like an original old. She also had a power. She could feel it but it wasn't like the rest of the powers she could feel when she met another who was gifted. No she was old and that meant Evangeline may not be able to use her powers on her. It was thick like old magic. Now she had been around the word and came across many faces but someone as old as this power she was curious. She needed to know more for one to not step on toes she was careful of doing so. She did not want to die over something so petty. She liked her life as it was. Though the consent looking over her shoulder for the Voltaire was a pain she wished she didn't have. For a moment she just watched the Vampire. She looked like she was enjoying another conversation. She glanced around. Who was she taking note of? Younger vampires where so much easier to read then her. She did everything with an are of coolness about her and effortlessness. Evelyn hoped she looked like that. But she then thought she would have some tell tail signs. She noticed the woman look her way and Evelyn nodded in a way of greeting her. And hopefully she knew it would be an invitation for hr to come across and have a conversation this was a good opportunity to meet hr and get to know her. If she let this slip through her fingers then she would be pondering over the old vampire for weeks. She may have even sent her little side buddies out to find and arrange a meeting. The woman was coming over great she placed a warm smile across her face. “Nice to meet you i'm Evangeline. “ She said as she let her eastern European voice greet the air again. The was an air of elegance and ease about the woman. It was making her thirsty not for blood but more for knowledge. What did she know that would help her? “What brings someone of your age to a sleepy little town like this?” Evelyn asked as she took a sop of her drink that the waitress had brought her whitest the new woman was making her way to the table. She should drink the human drinks and a bit of food but she could not taste it. Though coffee always did give her a little buzz for a moment. A thought flashed her mind as she took the hot beverage down. Would it be rude to ask her her age? In all other social conventions she had been a part of over the years it was a bit no no however this was too tempting. She smelt more natural earthly old.
